Charleston Fashion Week is going on right now and it's taken over the city! I am not tricking myself into thinking I'm as fashionable as I can be this year (still wearing stretchy maternity pants, thank you very much), but I CAN keep you in the loop. Hopefully these links will school you in CF/W.

Lotsa Bloggin' Love

Hope everyone had a nice long weekend! I've been reading a lot of blogs lately which have been started by really talented people here in Charelston's event and weddings industry. Here's some food for blog.

Table Escape

Oooh, surfing my blogosphere today I came across some beautiful photos of a simple yet creative table runner on The Bride's Cafe. Beautiful strands of colorful ribbon look like they have been placed just so, not too done, but definitely thought out. Possibly inspired by the Bride's colorful satin sash?

Here are some more nice little tablescapes I found surfing through the rest of The Bride's Cafe.

Burlap runners and mason jars, rustic and vintage, could be used at a place like the Cotton Dock.

Above, don't know about those stools, but, hey, whatever works!

New Kid on the Blog

I didn't go to the Bridal Couture Show last Saturday, something came up at the last minute. Just remembered that I said I would post about it, but I don't really have anything!

Anyway, I'm uber-excited to have found a new blog by NY based event and wedding designer Michelle Rago. Looks like she just started it in February and it already has some great eye candy.

I especially like it because she shows a lot of the "behind-the-scenes" moments that you don't ever really hear about, but all planners know how many hours it actually takes (grrrr!). Speaking of behind the scenes, I'm bringing my camera along today to document the building of the parasol chandelier for my next wedding on April 19.

My handsome husband is the first to jump at the chance (I forced him) to let me borrow his playlist for some fresh tunes! His name is Greg, he's an amazing artist and adventure-seeker. The long and short of it

Who am I??? Just talking about my blog with Mitchell Crosby of JMC Charleston and he said it took him a while to figure out what is going on with me, this blog, my website and the Gibbes. Basically, I work full time as the Sales & Special Events Planner at the beautiful and historic Gibbes Museum of Art. I also have my existing side venture SOCIAL Event Design & Planning, which allows me to expand my planning horizons every now and then, and I run this blog, Being SOCIAL, that I update every other day or so. I also post portions of some of the blog entries on CharlestonPartyPlanners.com, and now on CreateMyEvent.com.

I love blogging about the event industry, in general, and also about events that take place here in Charleston. A lot of what I see are the weddings that take place here at the Gibbes since I'm here too, and I enjoy highlighting all the vendors involved so people can see their work! Eventually I want include posts about other industry leaders in the city, and what they are doing to move Charleston forward (like Mitchell!). I take this blog home as "homework" and look forward to bringing it to you and having more fun with it as time goes on. Ciao!
