Master Cleanse on the brain

When life gives you lemons you can either make lemonade, go on the Master Cleanse, or put them to decorative use in our industry. Yes, yes, I know we've all seen the citrus trend time and time again, but I will never tire of the organic beauty of something so natural. Plus, like I said, I've got lemons on the brain...

Smart design with a hollowed out lemon as a place setting.

David Stark created a huge wall of fresh lemons and limes for an Entertainment Weekly party.

Cake designer extrordinaire, Kate Sullivan , is a true artist.

Here is a refreshing recipe for a Limoncello Martini, mmmm, wish I could have one! This is supposed to make two, but I won't tell if you drink it all!

Ice

3 ounces vodka (6 tablespoons)

1 ounce limoncello (2 tablespoons)

1 teaspoon simple syrup (see note) Lemon twists

Fill a shaker with ice. Add vodka, limoncello and simple syrup.

Shake well and strain into oversized martini glasses. Garnish each with a lemon twist.

NOTE: Simple syrup is made by combining 2 parts granulated sugar with 1 part water. Simmer, stirring, over low heat until sugar is dissolved. Chill before using.
